Delphi University was founded by a group of doctors, nurses, naturopathic practitioners, and allied health professionals to provide the best integrated health care educational system in the world. All were disappointed that the focus of most universities was on research and not teaching. Additionally, traditional medicine was at best skeptical about alternatives that did not involve medicines or surgery. We believe that all approaches and treatments of disease should be taught and the practitioner and patient should have the information to make an informed discussion regarding their care and treatment. The Delphi University Foundation was formed to address these issues and the Delphi University System was created.

Delphi University School of Nursing designed an independent study curriculum which uses the internet, pod casting, video and tele-conferencing, and computer aided learning, allow students to further their education with a minimum of disruption to their family life.

Students the Core Nursing Semesters make trips to the one of the University's campuses to take final examinations after the completion of all required assignments for the semester.

In the Clinical Nursing Science courses, students are guided by Delphi University faculty mentors through their required clinical courses and practical examinations in Delphi University affiliated hospitals and clinics in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
