Curriculum
The curriculum consists of 140 semesters hours which may begin any time of the year. The curriculum may take from 2 2/3 to 5 calendar years to complete and is divided into 90 credit hours of Basic Sciences courses and 50 credits of Advanced Natural and Complementary Medical Science. Students take their courses in a distance learning environment guided by the Delphi University faculty using computer aided learning, podcasts, video and teleconferencing, and the internet. Students submit required coursework for each course via the internet and take final examinations given by Delphi University Faculty at the completion of every semester. The course grades for students are determined as follows: 1/2 from the required coursework and 1/2 from the final examination. Approximately 95% of the total credits are spent off campus. Students must be enrolled in at least 2 courses and no more than 6 courses simultaneously. Students are graded on a 4.0 system as follows: A - 4.0, B - 3.0, C - 2.0, D - 1.0, F - 0, and must maintain a 2.0 average to advance. All courses in which an F (fail) is obtained must be repeated and passed. One hundred fifty (150) Credits with an overall average of 2.0 is required to graduate. Students graduating with an overall average of 3.7 or greater will graduate Summa Cum Laude and those with an overall average of 3.5 or greater will graduate Cum Laude.
Students in the traditional Doctor of Medicine Program or Physicians with a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy Degree desiring to obtain the additional Doctor of Natural Medicine Degree may complete semesters six (6), seven (7), eight (8) and the Final Written and Oral Examinations. Additionally, students in good standing in the Natural Medicine Degree Program desiring a traditional Doctor of Medicine Degree may complete the eighty (90) Credits of Clinical Clerkships of the traditional program for the Doctor of Medicine Degree.
